This morning, the final results of the 2026 municipal council elections were confirmed during a formal session of the central electoral committee. Two special council meetings will follow, marking the farewell to the outgoing council and the installation of the new one.
Final results
During the election night on 18 March and the announcement of preference votes on 23 March, the provisional results were presented. The counts and reports from the polling stations (the official records) were available for inspection at Steenbergen’s town hall and on the municipality’s website. The chair of the central electoral committee announced that 10,515 valid votes were cast in the municipal council election, resulting in a turnout of 53.2%.
