Asian hornet
The Asian hornet is a wasp species that is harmful to honeybees, bumblebees, wasps and other (pollinating) insects. That is why we are doing everything we can to keep the number of this unwanted species as low as possible. Do you see an Asian hornet or a nest? Then report it to us.
From March to June, young queens build small nests. These nests are often found in gardens or sheds, but also in birdhouses, hedges, shrubs and under eaves.
What can you do?
- Check your surroundings for small nests.
- Request a trap from the Asian Hornet Taskforce by calling 06 53 74 24 74 or sending an email to droelands@zeelandnet.nl.
- Report small nests to the Taskforce and always include the location.
