New homes on Prinses Irenelaan to strengthen village connection
On Tuesday, March 24, the municipality of Uithoorn, developer KRKTR, and future residents celebrated the transfer of land from the municipality to the developer. The land is needed for the construction of eight new homes on Prinses Irenelaan, part of the Frisse Blik project.

“Together, we have given the green light to a development that is about much more than just housing. It is another important step in strengthening the connection within the village. Where once the provincial road split the village in two, there is now a green avenue with only destination traffic where people will live very comfortably.” So says alderman Hazen. The new homes are part of a broader vision to give the village entrance a face. As a symbolic gesture, the alderman and the developer created clean construction land in flower pots. The future residents planted hollyhock seeds in them. It is their task—while waiting for their homes—to let the hollyhocks grow. The growth of the Irenelaan location has begun.
Taco Meerpoel, KRKTR Project Development: “The municipality had set a clear ambition: not only sustainable construction, but also shaping the entrance to Uithoorn and strengthening community spirit. That really gets us excited! With Frisse Blik, we aim to give Uithoorn this boost.” Construction work will begin shortly after last Tuesday’s meeting.
