Municipality launches insulation subsidy scheme for Owners' Associations
Owners' Associations (VvE’s) in our municipality can now apply for subsidies for insulation measures. The municipality already has a subsidy scheme for homeowners outside a VvE.
Deputy for Sustainability Karin Oyevaar: “Energy you don’t use is energy you don’t need to generate. By insulating your home, you keep warmth inside in winter and heat outside in summer, reducing the need for heating or cooling. This ensures greater comfort and is better for your wallet. With this subsidy, we’re giving VvE’s in our municipality a helping hand.”
VvE advice and guidance
Anyone who buys a home within an apartment complex automatically becomes a member of the Owners' Association. An Owners' Association is responsible for the management and maintenance of the building.
Within a VvE, residents can only undertake sustainability measures together. This presents a challenge: as many people, as many wishes. By combining subsidies with practical assistance, we believe we can effectively help VvE’s. The subsidy will therefore be accompanied by an advisory process. VvE’s will receive further details about this later this year.
The advisory process is provided through the VvE-Energiepunt. This is the information and advice centre for VvE owners in the province of Utrecht who wish to become more sustainable. VvE owners can already turn to this centre for information and questions about sustainability. Visit https://www.energiepunt.nl/vve.
About the insulation subsidy for VvE’s
Work carried out since January 2026 is eligible for the subsidy. The subsidy applies to insulation of roofs, floors, walls and windows. The maximum subsidy amount is €1,500 per apartment, with an additional bonus of €250 for the use of biobased (natural) insulation materials. It is important that the apartment is owner-occupied. The property had a WOZ value of no more than €602,000 in 2022, 2023 or 2024.
More information about the conditions and application process is available at https://www.heuvelrug.nl/vve.
Open consultation hour for more information
On Tuesday 7 April between 14:00 and 17:00, there will be an open consultation hour at Cultuurhuis Pléiade (Kerkplein 2) in Doorn, where VvE’s can ask all their questions about the VvE offer and sustainability options. VvE’s that do not qualify for the subsidy are also welcome.
