Tile Taxi for Dutch National Tile Removal Championship
Have your tiles collected for free by the tile taxi
This year, our municipality is once again participating in the Dutch National Tile Removal Championship. The goal of the championship is to replace as many tiles as possible with plants in gardens. This helps combat heat on hot summer days, benefits biodiversity, and captures rainwater during heavy downpours to prevent sewage systems from overflowing.
Tile Taxi
To make it easier for you, you can have your tiles collected for free on Monday, 20 April 2026, by the tile taxi from the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden. You do not need to be home on that day. Good to know: if there are many registrations, the tile taxi may also come to your address on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Registration
Would you like to use the tile taxi? Please fill out the form below by Monday, 13 April 2026 at the latest:
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this, please email.
Conditions
- You can only offer tiles, pavers, and kerbstones. No sand, gravel, green waste, garden wood, decking, or pebbles.
- You must replace the removed tiles with biodiversity-friendly greenery (plants, shrubs, trees, grass).
How should I present the tiles?
- Place the tiles in a location where the grabber truck can access them. The grabber truck is roughly the size of a refuse truck. The grabber can pick up tiles from a distance of up to about 5 metres.
- Stack the tiles ready for collection in front of your house, in your front garden, driveway, or by the side of the road. If the grabber truck cannot access your street, place the tiles at the corner of the street or at the designated minicontainer collection point.
- Ensure the tiles are placed on a hard surface, such as stone or asphalt. Not on grass.
- Do not stack the tiles against a wall, fence, or shed.
- Make sure your tiles are not obstructing anyone.
- Do not place the tiles next to parked cars, waste containers, lamp posts, trees, or sheds. Also, do not place them in a street where roadworks are taking place.
- You can place the tiles out for collection from Monday, 18 April 2026. Ensure the tiles are ready by Monday, 20 April 2026 at the latest by 7:00 AM.
