Waste Challenge: Successful Action for Clean Containers
A successful campaign involving underground containers in Waalwijk has concluded. Residents in various streets in Laageinde were challenged in the ‘waste challenge’ to keep ‘their’ container spot clean for 60 days. The results were impressive.
Container Competition
Five underground containers in Dr. Kuyperlaan and Ir. Lelystraat participated in the ‘Cleanest Container in Waalwijk’ competition. Each day, we checked whether waste was left next to the underground container. If the spot was clean, the counter increased. If waste was found, the count restarted from zero.
Meet the Winners
Container R31 on Dr. Kuyperlaan won the competition, remaining clean for 39 consecutive days. Container R19 on Ir. Lelystraat took second place with 32 clean days, while container R32 secured third place with 24 days. The other locations also contributed to the overall success.
Working Together for a Clean Neighbourhood
The campaign demonstrates that a clean environment is achievable when residents work together. Thank you to everyone for their efforts! Even without the competition, it remains important to keep container spots tidy. This way, Waalwijk stays clean and liveable for everyone.
