Invitation to information meeting on community facility Boshoven

The municipality of Weert has, in collaboration with the relevant associations in the Boshoven district, been actively exploring various scenarios for the new community facility in the area. Additionally, initiator Lammers Real Estate BV has developed a residential construction plan for the Don Bosco location. The municipality of Weert invites residents to an information meeting on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 to update them on these plans.
Community facility Boshoven
A new permanent solution is needed in the Boshoven district to accommodate community activities. Since the closure of De Kwintet, the community centre has been temporarily located at Annendaal (Ehrenstein 10). This temporary arrangement does not meet the requirements for permanent use. Earlier, on 31 October 2024, the municipal council already decided to create a community facility in the centre of Boshoven.
The municipal executive (B&W) has committed to:
- Making every effort to create a large hall space of 350 m² net floor area at the Don Bosco location (equivalent to the total area of all halls in the former De Kwintet), thereby meeting the users' wishes.
- Exploring other alternatives in the centre of Boshoven, despite a preference for Don Bosco.
We would like to share the results of this research with residents during an information evening. During this event, there will be an opportunity to provide feedback and share any additional comments or suggestions.
Information meeting on 15 April
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, from 19:30 to approximately 21:30, at Poppodium de Bosuil, Vrakkerveld 2C in Weert. After a brief joint session, you can visit thematically arranged booths to learn more about the new community facility at Vrakkerplein, the Don Bosco residential construction plan, and the public layout of the entire area. All involved parties (municipality, Lammers, associations) will be present during the evening to answer any questions.
