As in the rest of the Netherlands, municipal council elections were held in the municipality of Weert on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. The turnout in Weert was 48.88%. In the previous municipal council elections in 2022, 45.20% of voters cast their ballots. A total of 20,529 votes were cast.

Seven parties participated in the municipal council elections. There are 31 council seats to be allocated in the Weert municipal council.

New municipal council and Board of Mayor and Aldermen
At a council meeting on Wednesday, 1 April (starting at 19:30), the new municipal council will be sworn in.
