Intersection Lozerlaan – Erasmusweg to be improved
The Municipality of The Hague is working on improving and ensuring safer traffic flow for cars on and along the Lozerlaan. Due to the city's growth and the construction of many new homes in the area, this important route between The Hague, Westland, and the A4 is becoming increasingly congested. Together with the Province of South Holland and the Rotterdam-The Hague Metropolitan Region, we are supporting the Municipality of The Hague in this project.
New underpass at Erasmusweg
An underpass for cars will be constructed at the intersection of the Lozerlaan and Erasmusweg. This will allow traffic to flow more smoothly towards Westland and the motorway, reducing congestion and improving road safety.
Residents can share their input
In the spring, a participation process will begin. Directly affected parties, such as residents of the surrounding apartment buildings and businesses along the Lozerlaan, can contribute ideas regarding various aspects of the design. Other residents and road users can share their opinions through a survey and at information meetings. The collected ideas will be used to inform the preliminary design.
Intersection Poeldijkseweg – Erasmusweg
The opportunity has also been taken to assess whether other traffic situations in the area can be improved. This is the case at the Poeldijkseweg-Erasmusweg intersection, which is used daily by many Westland residents, both by car/motorcycle and by bicycle, on foot, and by bus. To ensure that traffic continues to flow smoothly and safely here, traffic lights will be installed.
Councillor Peter Valstar: “I am pleased that these important intersections will be improved. The enhancements, together with the widening of the N211 and the redevelopment of the Harnaschknoop, will contribute to better traffic flow on the road network of both The Hague and Westland.”
