On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, the municipal council elections were held. You can find the final results here.
The final results have now been officially confirmed. Voter turnout in the municipality of Woerden was 62.19%. Out of 42,119 eligible voters, 26,191 cast their ballots. The VVD and Inwonersbelangen each secured 6 seats, making them the largest parties. Volt is a new addition to the municipal council with 1 seat. Four councillors were elected through preference votes:
- Jaap van der Does (LijstvanderDoes)
- Elske Janssens (Progressief Woerden)
- Tom Berkhof (VVD)
- Carlijn van Rensen (Inwonersbelangen)
In the week of 30 March, it will be announced whether all elected candidates have accepted their seats.
Results of the Municipal Council Elections on 18 March 2026
