Results of survey on expansion of paid parking in the city centre
Residents of Geiserlaan and Prins Hendriklaan have been experiencing high parking pressure for some time. In November 2025, we informed residents about the possible introduction of paid parking. An online survey was conducted to gauge support for the measure.
- For Geiserlaan, 40 addresses were contacted. A total of 36 valid surveys were received (90% response rate). Of the respondents, 31 were in favour and 5 were against paid parking. Support for the measure stands at 86%.
- For Prins Hendriklaan, 58 addresses were contacted. A total of 48 valid surveys were completed (83% response rate). Of these, 32 were in favour and 16 were against paid parking. Support for the measure stands at 67%.
Municipal decision
The municipal executive (college van burgemeester en wethouders) has decided to introduce paid parking on Geiserlaan and Prins Hendriklaan as of 1 May 2026.
Geiserlaan
Geiserlaan will be added to Zone 3. This means:
- Paid parking from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 to 19:00, and on Friday from 9:00 to 21:00
- Parking with a day pass
Prins Hendriklaan
Prins Hendriklaan will be added to Zone 4. This means:
- Paid parking from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 to 19:00, and on Friday from 9:00 to 21:00
- Rate: €2.50 per hour
