Free compost collection
Saturday, 28 March is compost day again. You can therefore collect free compost in Zwijndrecht between 25 and 28 March.
Once the compost has been delivered by HVC, you can collect it free of charge from the Oude Stationsweg (car park near the allotments) in Zwijndrecht and the Molenweg (car park near the ice rink) in Heerjansdam. Be quick, as supplies are limited. Please note: it is mandatory to cover a trailer with a tarp or net. Failure to do so will result in a hefty fine.
The municipality is collaborating with HVC for this initiative. With this free compost, HVC thanks you for separating your garden and food waste. HVC produces compost from collected garden and food waste. Did you know that from the garden waste in a full 140-litre bin, 20 kilograms of compost can be made?
Good for your garden
Compost is great for your garden. If you mix compost into the soil in your garden, rainwater can drain into the ground more easily. It also provides nutrients for flowers and plants and keeps the soil healthier.
