Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu:
It is essential to prepare while conditions are favorable. Our EU Preparedness Union strategy focuses on improving our readiness and cooperation within the European Union.
Our approach centers on anticipating, informing, and preparing, with EU involvement at all levels. We must work together with member states, regional and local governments, and society as a whole to effectively manage risks such as climate change, cybersecurity, and disinformation.
The COVID pandemic has shown that joint action is crucial. Our strategy includes actions to enhance societal preparedness, including promoting volunteerism and combating disinformation.
We are committed to a joint approach and want member states to do the same with their policies. The strategy includes concrete actions to achieve this.
Thank you.
