Implementing 30 percent tariffs on EU exports would disrupt vital transatlantic supply chains, harming businesses, consumers, and patients on both sides of the Atlantic.

Few economies globally match the EUs openness and commitment to fair trade. The EU has consistently sought a negotiated resolution with the U.S., demonstrating our dedication to dialogue, stability, and a constructive transatlantic partnership.

We are prepared to continue working toward an agreement by August 1. Simultaneously, we will take necessary actions to protect EU interests, including potential countermeasures if needed.

In the meantime, we will strengthen our global partnerships based on the principles of rules-based international trade.
