Draft Nature Management Plan 2027: Targeted Protection of Natura 2000 Areas and Black-tailed Godwit
The province intends to deploy the subsidy for Agricultural Nature and Landscape Management (ANLB) more specifically to protect nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 areas and the black-tailed godwit. This is stated in the draft Nature Management Plan 2027.
After the definitive Nature Management Plan 2027 is adopted in the autumn, landowners and site managers can apply to the province for a subsidy to develop and manage nature within the Netherlands Nature Network (NNN). These subsidies are called the Subsidy Regulation Quality Impulse Nature and Landscape Management (SKNL), Subsidy Lease Buyout (SPA) and Agricultural Nature and Landscape Management (ANLB).
The draft Nature Management Plan and the accompanying maps specify the nature and landscape objectives that apply to the province. Subsidy applicants must align their management with these objectives and meet the established requirements for monitoring, reporting and assessment.
Targeted Protection of Natura 2000 Areas and Black-tailed Godwit
The province states that the subsidy for Agricultural Nature and Landscape Management (ANLB) in 2027 can be deployed specifically within and around nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 areas and in the key habitats of the black-tailed godwit. This follows from national agreements on the deployment of additional central government funds for the ANLB.
Public Consultation Period
The Nature Management Plan is being drawn up in collaboration with farmers, nature organisations and private landowners. The draft Nature Management Plan will be available for inspection from 10 April to 21 May via noord-holland.nl/terinzageleggingen. During this period, anyone can submit a response. In the autumn, the Provincial Executive will adopt the definitive Nature Management Plan 2027.
