From Monday 30 March to Thursday 9 April, work will be carried out on the N240 at the intersection with Zwaagdijk, the Droge Wijmersweg roundabout and the roundabout near Almereweg.
The work is divided into 2 closures.
Closure of N240 at Zwaagdijk intersection and Droge Wijmersweg roundabout
From Monday 30 March to Thursday 2 April, the N240 between the roundabout with Marktweg/Zaadmarkt and the Vok Koomenweg roundabout will be closed daily to through traffic between 06:00 and 16:00. During the same period, the N240 section between the Dirk Bijvoetweg roundabout and the Almereweg roundabout will also be fully closed. The asphalt will be replaced and new road markings will be applied. During this period, through traffic will follow a diversion via the N307 Westfriesiaweg, the A7 and the N239 Westerzeedijk. The parallel road along the N240 will remain available for emergency and assistance services and slow-moving traffic.
Closure of N240 at Almereweg roundabout
From Tuesday 7 April to Thursday 9 April, the N240 between the junction with the N239 and the Droge Wijmersweg roundabout will be closed daily to through traffic between 07:00 and 16:00. The asphalt will be replaced and new road markings will be applied. During this period, through traffic will follow a diversion via the N307 Westfrisiaweg, the A7 and the N239 Westerzeedijk. The parallel road along the N240 will remain available for emergency and assistance services and slow-moving traffic.
Slow-moving traffic, cyclists and pedestrians
Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to pass through the work zone under the guidance of traffic controllers. The parallel road along the N240 will also remain available.
Connexxion transport services
- Connexxion bus line 131 (Hoorn – Andijk, Gedeputeerde Laanweg): During the work at the Zwaagdijk intersection (from 30 March to 2 April), bus line 131 will travel from WFO/ABC stop via Marktweg and Tolweg towards Zwaagdijk. The Dragonder stop will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the Tolweg stop. This stop will be covered on site. Check the travel planner before you travel.
- Connexxion bus line 132 (Hoorn – Andijk, Sorghvliet): During the work at the Zwaagdijk intersection (from 30 March to 2 April), bus line 132 will travel from Zwaagdijk-Oost via Noorderboekert and the N307 towards the N240. The Markerwaardweg, Zwaagdijk 106, V.V. Zwaagdijk, Van Diepen and Dragonder stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the Tolweg stop on the east side and the Noorderboekert stop on the west side. These stops will be covered on site. Check the travel planner before you travel.
- Connexxion bus line 139 (Hoorn station – Medemblik Busstation): During the work at the Almereweg roundabout (from 7 April to 9 April), bus line 139 will travel via the N239 and N240. The Opperdoes Almersdorperbrug to Medemblik Voorhamer stops will not be served during this period. Passengers can use the Admiraliteitsweg stop.
