The Final Design (DO) of the Poort van Buijtenland is complete. The aim is for the Poort van Buijtenland to become an attractive recreational area, including hospitality facilities. It will serve as the main entrance to the Buijtenland van Rhoon. The Province of South Holland is responsible for developing the gateway area.
Final Design
During a well-attended open evening on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the DO was presented. A summary of the DO can be found below. Naturally, the DO has been developed in more detail than the Preliminary Design (VO 2021). A planting plan has been drawn up, lighting will be installed in the parking area, and the furniture has been selected and incorporated into the design.
Market exploration launched
The Poort consists of three construction plots that still need to be developed. To this end, financially viable (recreational) entrepreneurs who fit the Buijtenland van Rhoon are being sought.
