Celebrating Our Champions
After the arrival of the Blauw Sjuut, Governor Emile Roemer surprised the audience with a spectacular video and a playful buut in the presence of dozens of princes and princesses from all over Limburg. Then the stage was for the champions. They performed again and were honored by the provincial government for their remarkable achievements. The champions of this year are listed here.

Vastelaovend = Knoevelemint
In the run-up to Vastelaovend, the Province of Limburg organizes the traditional Knoevelemint in the week before Vastelaovend. As always, the event takes place in the Banquet Hall of the Gouvernement aan de Maas. The Knoevelemint is the annual event dedicated to the Limburg Vastelaovend where jubilee associations and Vastelaovend champions are honored.
Medal for Princesses and Princes
The Limburg carnival world is also widely represented. In addition to the boards of the Collaborating Limburg Vastelaovend Associations (SLV) and the Limburg Carnival Associations Federation (BCL), carnival associations from all over Limburg are present. Jubilee princesses and princes receive a special medal from the provincial government. This years guest of honor was Beppie Kraft, who celebrated her jubilee and was honored and surprised by the governor during the Knoevelemint.
Knoevelemint and Art
In addition to the beautiful Vastelaovend poster recently presented by Thijs Heijnen from Susteren, this year again beer coasters were made especially for the Knoevelemint. The Vastelaovend coasters were made this year by artist Ilona Krugers, from Atelier Oet de Verf (Daelzicht) in Panningen. The name of the artwork is: Prince and Princess.
