The Province of North Holland is making over € 1.5 million in subsidies available for the restoration and development of nature at land and inland wind and solar parks.
The funds are intended for initiators and developers of energy projects, local energy communities, municipalities, water boards, and landowners who want to generate energy while contributing to North Hollands nature. From July 1, they can apply for subsidies through the subsidy portal Opens an external link of the province.
The Province of North Holland aims to contribute to a sustainable and responsible development of energy projects. The construction of new solar and wind parks must be carried out carefully with attention to people, nature, and landscape. To make this possible, subsidies are available. The subsidies are also intended to take measures that ensure more biodiversity. Think of solar parks with flowering field margins, natural barriers, and shelters for small animals. In this way, energy projects provide not only electricity but also a livable, healthy environment.
Subsidy scheme for RES regions
The subsidy originates from the quality budget of the State for strengthening ecology and biodiversity around renewable energy projects on land. It is distributed among the various RES regions where the province, together with various parties, investigates how and where the generation of solar or wind energy is possible. In North Holland, there are 2 RES regions: North Holland North (RES NHN) and North Holland South (RES NHZ) Opens an external link. Per region, € 788,000 in subsidies is available.
