The province annually makes €45,000 available through the Involving in Green Fund for green volunteer projects.
This fund is a great opportunity for volunteer groups, neighborhood initiatives, and nature-conscious organizations. From January 5 to February 5, anyone can submit a good idea and be eligible for a subsidy.
The fund is intended for projects that improve the green living environment or actively involve people with nature. Think of creating an insect-friendly flower garden, establishing nesting sites for special birds, involving neighborhood residents in nature management, or an educational nature project at school. The fund thus stimulates the creation of new green spaces, the protection of plants and animals, and peoples engagement with nature.
Anouk Gielen, Deputy for Nature: “With the Involving in Green Fund, we help volunteers improve biodiversity and increase peoples involvement with nature and landscape. Over the past years, we have seen that volunteers can make a significant impact with a contribution from this fund. The projects contribute to a richer, natural living environment for everyone.”
Applications are assessed by staff from various land-managing organizations participating in the Involving in Green program.
