The four new locations are at the Marineterrein in the municipality of Amsterdam, Hoorn Zuid in the municipality of Hoorn, Wijdenes in the municipality of Drechterland, and Camperduin in the municipality of Bergen. All locations from last year remain, and no swimming locations have been dropped.

In the previously sent news article from January 2025, the province communicated about the draft decision on swimming locations from the Provincial Executive. On April 1, 2025, the locations were officially designated for the upcoming swimming season.
Every year, the province establishes official swimming locations in surface water - sea, ponds, and lakes - before the start of the swimming season. Designating these locations is a legal duty of the province, which considers factors such as the number of swimmers, water quality, accessibility, and safety. Through this annual evaluation, locations may be added or removed.
