The province of North Holland provides a € 600,000 subsidy for 21 energy hubs in North Holland. An energy hub is a place where entrepreneurs connected to the same power station can exchange energy with each other.
Entrepreneurs can apply for the subsidy through the subsidy portal until December 31, 2025.

The money is intended for entrepreneurs who work together to tackle energy challenges, such as the full power grid. For each initiative, € 50,000 to € 60,000 is available for specific knowledge, such as data analysis and technical, legal, and organizational advice. This knowledge helps entrepreneurs to organize themselves and collaborate in the energy hubs. More information about the subsidy application can be found at Subsidy regulations.
21 selected energy hubs
In North Holland, there are about 50 initiatives for energy hubs. The province has selected a total of 21 initiatives in 2025 that can apply for subsidies. All initiatives were assessed on important points, such as economic development and sustainability. The conditions for the energy system and organization were also examined. The assessment was carried out by Liander, ROMInwest (an organization that helps companies in North Holland), and the province of North Holland.
Stimulus program for energy hubs in North Holland
The subsidy scheme is part of the stimulus program for energy hubs in North Holland, which was launched on behalf of the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth. The program supports faster development of local energy hubs by disseminating available knowledge, reducing the number of bottlenecks on the local power grid. In 2026, a new stimulus program will come to support even more energy hub initiatives.
