Photographer Ilvy Njiokiktjien has been selected for the annual documentary photo assignment for the Provincial Atlas North Holland collection, managed by the North Holland Archive for the province. This years theme is living – stories of housing shortage. Njiokiktjien will visually document how the housing shortage appears in North Holland.
As in the whole of the Netherlands, the demand for housing in North Holland is very high, and the consequences of the housing shortage are felt by many people. What does it mean if you do not have a (suitable) home? And are there solutions in sight? Photographer Ilvy Njiokiktjien will capture this.
Using figures, percentages, and statistics, she wants to show the diversity and breadth of the problem, as she has done in previous projects. This way, the target goals for the homes to be built and various target groups will be given a face.
