The previously announced weekend closure of Ouderkerk Bridge from Friday, October 3 (8:00 PM) to Monday, October 6 (6:00 AM) has been postponed.
The Province of North Holland was scheduled to carry out repair work on the bridge in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel that weekend. Due to the expected bad weather conditions, the contractor has decided to postpone the work to a later date. Traffic on the N522 between Amstelveen and Amsterdam Southeast can continue to use the bridge.
The Province of North Holland is conducting repair work on Ouderkerk Bridge from September 1, 2025, to the end of March 2026. Welding work was scheduled to take place during the weekend of October 3 to 6. The contractor has indicated that the expected strong winds combined with heavy rain make it impossible to carry out the work safely and effectively. Therefore, the previously announced weekend closure for motorized traffic from October 3 to 6 will not take place.
Ouderkerk Bridge will remain open to all traffic during the weekend. The postponement of the work will not affect the further planning. Other scheduled weekend work and closures, such as during the weekend of October 17 to 20, will proceed as planned. Further information about the execution of the work will follow.
