After thorough consultation with the parliamentary group leaders, Kings Commissioner Hans Oosters has decided to appoint Aukje Treep - Van Hoeckel as acting mayor of Montfoort as of December 11. She will fulfill the role until a new, crown-appointed mayor for Montfoort is appointed.
In September this year, Mayor Petra van Hartskamp of Montfoort announced her departure. She will step down after nearly ten years as mayor on December 10.
Aukje Treep – Van Hoeckel has been an alderman in the municipality of Soest since 2018. Between 2000 and 2018, she worked as a landscape architect at various agencies.
The commissioner has consulted with the parliamentary group leaders from the municipal council about the appointment of Aukje Treep – Van Hoeckel. They look forward to a pleasant collaboration with her. Aukje Treep – Van Hoeckel will remain in office until the appointment of a new permanent mayor. When the vacancy will be opened is not yet known. It is customary that no appointment procedures are started around municipal elections.
