On Thursday evening, November 20, during an extraordinary council meeting, Kings Commissioner Hans Oosters administered the oath of office to Mayor Sjors Fröhlich.
In his speech, the commissioner praised Fröhlich for his role as chairman of the municipal council at the start of the new municipality of Vijfheerenlanden: “Under your chairmanship, trust was gained among both residents and council members. Even during the Niemands Beton case, you kept a cool head and helped the municipality accept the loss. You are a mayor with a refreshing communication style, who makes himself heard and seen,” said Oosters.
Sjors Fröhlich (59) has been mayor of Vijfheerenlanden since November 14, 2019, and is beginning his second term. Prior to that, he was editor-in-chief of BNR Nieuwsradio.
