From Monday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the province of Utrecht will carry out work on the Provincial Road (N201) at the on- and off-ramps of the A2 at Vinkeveen. The work is necessary to keep the road in good condition and to improve traffic safety and flow. Speed bumps will be installed at the intersections and the speed will be reduced to 60 kilometers per hour.
The work will be carried out by Dura Vermeer on behalf of the province of Utrecht. To minimize disruption for traffic and residents, the work will be carried out in three phases. During the work, through traffic on the N201 will remain possible. However, there will be different closures for traffic to and from the A2 during each phase.
Phase 1: western on- and off-ramp A2 closed
From Sunday, July 6 at 7:00 PM to Saturday, July 12 at 7:00 PM, work will be done at the bottom of the western off-ramp of the A2. A speed bump will be installed here, and a new maximum speed of 60 km/h will apply.
The western off-ramp of the A2 (from Amsterdam) to the N201 from the turbo roundabout is closed. The connection to Groenlandsekade and the carpool lot will remain open. Through traffic on the N201 will remain possible.
Phase 2: western on- and off-ramp A2 closed
From Sunday, July 13 at 6:00 AM to Wednesday, July 16 at 7:00 PM, the work on the west side will be completed, and work will begin on the eastern intersection.
The western off-ramp (from Utrecht towards Amsterdam) of the A2 to the N201 is closed. Through traffic on the N201 will remain possible.
Phase 3: eastern off- and on-ramp A2 closed
From Thursday, July 17 at 6:00 AM to Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 PM, the off- and on-ramp on the east side of the A2 will be closed. A traffic plateau will be installed and an extra lane will be added towards Vreeland.
The eastern on- and off-ramp (from Utrecht towards Amsterdam) of the A2 is closed. The intersection on the west side of the A2 will be available again. Through traffic on the N201 will remain possible.
Preparatory work
From Monday, June 30 at 8:00 PM to Saturday, July 5 at 6:00 AM, preparatory work will take place. This will be done in the evenings and at night. There will be no consequences for traffic, the road will remain available.
Detours and accessibility
During the closures, detour routes via the A2, N401, and N212 will apply. These will be indicated with yellow signs. Bicycle traffic will be temporarily diverted via Groenlandsekade and the carpool lot in phase 1. In phases 2 and 3, the bike paths will largely be open again. During the work on the bike path in phase 3, traffic controllers will ensure safe passage.
