From Monday, 23 February 2026 until the end of May 2026, the Province of Zeeland will carry out works on Stoofweg (N651) in Noordwelle. The works are necessary because the quality of the concrete bridge is deteriorating. Contractor Gebr. de Koning will perform the works.
Works and detour routes
The existing bridge will be demolished after the cables and pipes running over the bridge have been relocated. These cables and pipes will then be installed in the new situation.
The works take place within an existing road closure. Rijkswaterstaat is constructing a roundabout and bicycle tunnel near the intersection of Dammenweg – Stoofweg. The N651 is therefore closed to motorized traffic. For cyclists, a temporary detour route with a bicycle bridge is being created. This will be indicated on site.
Property owners in the area can continue to access their plots without hindrance. Residents and road users will be informed in time about the planning and any inconvenience.
