In 2023, the Provincial States decided to allocate 20ac5 million for the sustainability of community buildings owned by foundations and associations. In 2023, 154 buildings received subsidies. However, the demand for this subsidy remained. Therefore, it was decided to allocate an additional 20ac2 million for the Iepen Mienskipsf00fbns program 2024-2027: working together with volunteers.

In 2024, the first million was made available. With this money, 34 associations and foundations received subsidies to improve their buildings. Also, in the autumn 2025 opening, 20ac1 million was available. During this opening, 60 applications were submitted.

Advisory Committee

The advisory committee, including an installer and sustainability advisor, ranked the submitted projects. The 34 projects with the highest scores qualified for subsidies. On Thursday, all applicants were contacted. In total, 15 village halls, 13 sports facilities, and 6 churches received sustainability subsidies this round.

Projects that did not qualify for sustainability subsidies can now apply to the regular Iepen Mienskipsf00fbns. The regular IMF was increased last autumn by the Provincial States to be able to open twice a year with 20ac1.5 million each time.
