Plot Prices by Province
The prices for average new building plots rose the most in South Holland; in 2024 prices were 117.3% higher than in 2015. In Utrecht (114.5%), North Holland (104.5%), Gelderland (103.3), and North Brabant (98.5) the price increases were above the national average. The smallest price increases were recorded in Overijssel (46.0%), Drenthe (60.7%), and Limburg (63.8%).

Plot Prices by Housing Type
The prices for average plots for new terraced houses were 123.2% higher in 2024 than in 2015. Plots for corner houses doubled in price over nine years, with 105.2%, while plots for semi-detached houses remained below the national average with 88.1%. The prices for plots for detached houses increased the least, with 52%.

Average Price Per Square Meter
The average plot price for new homes was 425 euros per square meter in 2015 and 767 euros in 2024. Especially after 2021, prices rose faster. Both the average price and the difference between the cheapest 25% and the most expensive 25% of sales (the margin shown in the graph below) have increased significantly.

South Holland Much More Expensive Than Fryslân
The average price per square meter for new building plots was highest in 2024 in the western provinces of South Holland, Utrecht, and North Holland, where prices were approaching or above 1000 euros per square meter. In Fryslân, Groningen, and Drenthe, prices were lower than average, with amounts around or below 400 euros per square meter.
