Sexually transgressive behavior and sexual violence, both online and offline, are a painful and persistent societal problem. The urgency to tackle this complex issue is significant. Therefore, NWO has allocated €2,858,000 to the consortium T@CKLE.
NWA Program on Sexual Transgressive Behavior and Sexual Violence
Within the National Science Agenda (NWA), the program Sexual Transgressive Behavior and Sexual Violence - Towards an Effective and Preventive Approach focuses on consolidating existing knowledge and developing new insights. The goal is to determine what works to prevent (online and offline) sexual transgressive behavior and sexual violence as much as possible. Attention is given to societal, institutional, cultural, and social factors. The knowledge gained will be used to develop effective intervention and prevention strategies.
About the Consortium T@CKLE
Transdisciplinary Analysis and Co-creation of Knowledge to Lead Efforts against Online and Offline Sexually Transgressive Behaviour and Sexual Violence
T@CKLE tackles both online and offline sexually transgressive behavior and sexual violence (STB) decisively. With a comprehensive and transdisciplinary approach, T@CKLE brings together experts, organizations, and initiatives in a new national STB network. This strengthens collaboration across disciplines and combines the strengths of existing initiatives. The project focuses on a fivefold approach at various socio-ecological levels, aimed at both individuals and social contexts:
- More effective prevention of transgressive behavior by perpetrators,
- More tailored support for victims,
- More structural professional approach within organizations,
- Addressing harmful narratives such as victim blaming and reducing societal acceptance of STB,
- Ensuring an integrated approach for the long term.
Scientific knowledge is translated into practice in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders: in the form of practical toolkits and education for professionals and the general public. Additionally, targeted campaigns are initiated to drive societal change. By reducing the prevalence and negative consequences of STB, T@CKLE aims for sustainable progress towards a safe society regarding sexuality.

Program National Science Agenda
The foundation of the establishment and renewal of the National Science Agenda lies with citizens. In the NWA program, the connection between society and science is essential. Governments, researchers, social organizations, and citizens collaboratively develop and utilize knowledge to achieve scientific and societal impact. And through science communication, knowledge is shared in society to increase involvement and trust in science.
