The police arrested a 56-year-old man from Schagen on Monday, February 24, on suspicion of committing sexual abuse against underage employees. So far, five individuals have filed a report, and more reports cannot be ruled out.
The man was presented to the examining magistrate on Thursday, February 27, who decided to extend his pre-trial detention by fourteen days.
The case began when two victims decided to file a report. The investigation is ongoing. To protect the victims privacy, no further announcements are being made at this time. The police and Public Prosecution Service are always cautious about sharing information regarding cases involving underage victims.
The police believe that there may be more (former) employees who have fallen victim to sexual abuse and will try to reach as many of them as possible in the coming time. Of course, (former) employees can also contact the police themselves at number 0900-8844.
