Suspect in violent incident in Lisse remains in custody

The 57-year-old man who was arrested last weekend in connection with a serious incident in Lisse was presented today to the examining magistrate. His pre-trial detention has been extended by 14 days. He is suspected of attempted murder or manslaughter of two persons.

The man was arrested during the night of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 January at a residence on Jozef Israëlsstraat in Lisse. Police responded to a report of a violent incident that allegedly took place in the house. Two persons were injured.

The incident took place in a relational context. The victims were taken to hospital with injuries and are out of life-threatening danger.

The investigation is still ongoing.
