Around 3:30 PM, reports came in that someone had fired a few shots on the ground near a wedding procession on Meerssenerweg.
The police immediately launched an investigation. Videos of the incident were made. It appeared that this was not a targeted violent incident but had a ceremonial character.
Cartridges were found on site and investigations will determine what type of rounds they were. It is suspected that they were blank cartridges.
The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of the two men. They were arrested around 5:30 PM in a car on Meerssenerweg.
Both were taken to the police station and the car was seized.
