Consequences of Drug Trafficking
Drug trafficking has significant consequences for society. It is a common form of undermining. Often accompanied by violence, extortion, and intimidation. Young people and adults are approached, leading to criminal activities, making it difficult to step out of the criminal circuit.
The approach to undermining is focused on sustainably disrupting criminal activities, networks, and structures. Seizing criminal assets is an important part of the fight against organized crime. By seizing criminally obtained assets, criminals are hit where it hurts them, namely in their wallet. This way, they gain no benefit from their actions, and it is made clear that crime does not pay.
Keep Crime Out of Your Neighborhood
To combat this form of crime, the police work together with various partners, such as the Public Prosecution Service and municipalities. But the help of citizens is also essential. If you suspect criminal activities in your area, such as a cannabis farm, drug trafficking, or money laundering, always report this, even if in doubt. This can be done via 0800-8844 (non-urgent, police), 112 (in case of emergency), or by reporting anonymously via Meld Misdaad Anoniem.
