Over €389 million requested for greening social real estate in 2025
Owners of social real estate requested over €389 million in DUMAVA subsidies in 2025 to make their buildings more sustainable. Municipalities applied most frequently. Amateur sports clubs have also been able to apply since 2025 and made extensive use of this opportunity. From 1 June 2026, owners of social real estate will be able to apply for the Sustainable Social Real Estate subsidy scheme again.
Nearly one-third of applications came from municipalities
A total of 1,630 owners of social buildings applied for DUMAVA. Of these, 500 applications were from municipalities. They are greening, for example, community centres, monuments or sports facilities. A further 253 healthcare institutions, 235 educational institutions and 74 owners of monuments also applied for subsidies to make their buildings more sustainable.
Amateur sports clubs submitted 142 applications
Since 2025, amateur sports clubs have also been able to apply for DUMAVA. They did so 142 times. Sports facilities consume a lot of energy, for example due to field lighting and showers. By installing LED sports field lighting, amateur sports clubs can save energy.
New round opens on 1 June 2026
From Monday 1 June 2026 at 9:00 AM, owners of social real estate will be able to apply for subsidies again. Applications can be submitted until Friday 16 October 2026 at 5:00 PM. Last year, there was sufficient budget available. This year, a total of €405 million will again be made available.
Smaller projects may also qualify from 2026
In 2025, real estate owners received a minimum of €5,000 in DUMAVA subsidies per application. In 2026, the minimum subsidy amount is expected to be reduced to €2,500. This will give owners of smaller social buildings the opportunity to apply for subsidies and make their property more sustainable. Once this change is finalised, you can read about it on the DUMAVA page.
