Planning extra openings
We continue to work on a broader plan to open the Buitenhuizer Bridge more frequently starting in May 2025. This is partly due to the extended no-operation period of the Schiphol Bridge. These extra openings require the deployment of specialized staff on-site and are dependent on technical and operational feasibility. Keep an eye on Navigation Information for updates on opening times and further developments.
Consequences for road traffic (N202)
Depending on the number of ships waiting for the bridge on April 18 and 22, the waiting time for road traffic on the N202 may be longer than during a regular bridge opening.
Status of Buitenhuizer Bridge malfunction
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer regarding the exact cause of the malfunction. The investigation continues. The malfunction analysis shows that the bridge is still unreliable but can be safely opened locally.
