After the malfunction of the Haringvliet Bridge (A29) has been resolved, the bridge openings on Tuesday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 28, 2025, went smoothly. During the long Ascension weekend from Thursday, May 29 to Sunday, June 1, the bridge will also be opened for high shipping.
This will take place on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30 at the usual times for bridge openings.
On Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, the bridge will be opened less frequently. This is due to other work in the region, at the Harmsen Bridge (N57) and the Van Brienenoord Bridge (A16), in combination with the expected traffic pressure on the A29, which is also used as a diversion route for this work.
Work on N57 and A16
- The Harmsen Bridge (N57) will be closed in both directions for all road traffic from Friday, May 30, 22:00 to Monday, June 2, 05:00. More information can be found in the article N57: Harmsen Bridge closed during Ascension Weekend.
- The parallel lane of the Van Brienenoord Bridge (A16) towards Rotterdam will be closed from Wednesday, May 28, 22:00 to Monday, June 2, 05:00 (traffic over the main lane). More information can be found in the article Parallel Lane Van Brienenoord Bridge 2 weekends closed; May and June 2025.
