Spring inspection of river dikes begins again
Our dike inspectors will conduct a spring inspection from March 23 to April in our operational area along and on the river dikes. They will inspect the dikes along the Maas, Hollandsche IJssel, and Lek rivers. They will check whether any damage has occurred to the dikes during the winter period.
Damage
The most common types of damage are damage to the stonework and grass cover along the dikes. This damage often results from storms, high water, or extreme wave action pounding against the side of the dike. Serious damage is repaired as quickly as possible. Other damage will be addressed during maintenance work in the summer.
