Following the departure of aldermen Mos (GroenLinks) and Ahles (Leefbaar Almere), the Almere municipal executive continues with five aldermen. Given the short remaining period, both GroenLinks and Leefbaar Almere have decided not to provide replacement aldermen. The coalition of seven parties continues unchanged. This coalition also includes PvdA, D66, SP, Party for the Animals, and CDA.
‘This way we ensure the continuity of the municipal government. We feel responsible to keep working in the coming months in the interest of the city and its residents,’ said the municipal executive.
Mayor Van der Loo and aldermen Tang, Veeningen, Sprong, Luijendijk, and Nieuwenhuizen have agreed to distribute the portfolios of the departed officials among themselves.
