On November 25, 2025, an integrated inspection took place in Almere. During the inspection, the Municipality of Almere, police, customs, and the Environmental Service Flevoland & Gooi and Vechtstreek collaborated. They checked whether laws and regulations were being followed.

The integrated inspections are part of the approach against undermining crime. This means criminals use legitimate businesses to hide their illegal activities. Although this undermining crime is not always visible, it affects entrepreneurs and residents of our city. To keep the environment safe, the municipality continues to inspect and enforce multiple times a year.

This inspection focused on companies with storage units at the Poldervlak industrial area in Almere Buiten. A large number of storage and garage units were checked. Sniffer dogs trained to detect fireworks, explosives, and hazardous substances were also used.

Large quantities of drugs were found in 2 units. Additionally, large amounts of illegal vapes, hemp-related goods, and a small quantity of fireworks were found. The responsible authorities will conduct further investigations.
