On October 14, 2025, an integrated inspection was conducted on industrial areas in Almere. During the inspections, the Municipality of Almere, police, and the Environmental Service Flevoland, Gooi and Vechtstreek collaborated. They checked whether laws and regulations were being followed.

The integrated inspections are part of the approach against undermining. This means criminals use legitimate businesses to hide their illegal activities. Although this undermining crime is not always visible, it affects entrepreneurs and residents of our city. To keep the environment safe, the municipality continues to inspect and enforce multiple times a year. In September, there were also two inspections with similar results.

This inspection focused on the Veluwsekant and Randstad industrial areas. Most of the inspected premises complied with laws and regulations. However, some notable situations came to light:

  • Materials for cannabis cultivation
  • Heavy ammunition, including two cobras
  • People sleeping in business premises
  • Fire safety not in order
  • Violations of the zoning plan
  • Violations by the environmental service
