The Almere Insulation subsidy scheme was launched in September 2025 to help homeowners with less well-insulated homes to insulate their houses. The demand proved to be high, as the original subsidy amount of €2,650,000 was fully allocated within three months. Therefore, the subsidy schemes budget is being increased once by €400,000. With this increase, all applications that meet the criteria and were submitted before the closure of the application portal on December 8, 2025, can be granted. Residents who submitted their applications on time will not be disappointed.
Alderman Alexander Sprong: “We did not expect the number of applications for the subsidy scheme to be this large. The great enthusiasm shows that Almere residents are motivated to make their homes more sustainable when the municipality provides support. We do not want to disappoint this group and want to show that we keep our promises, which is why we have increased this budget once. We want to take big steps in insulating homes in the coming years and are very happy with all these residents who have already taken action.”
Towards an energy-efficient and future-proof city
To provide clarity and keep implementation manageable, the municipality closed the application portal at the beginning of December. By increasing the budget once to €3,050,000, all applications submitted on time and meeting the conditions can be honored. The scheme supports homeowners in taking insulation measures, which results in lower energy costs, more living comfort, and less CO₂ emissions. In this way, Almere and its residents take the next step towards an energy-efficient and future-proof city.
Almere Insulation subsidy scheme
This scheme offers insulation subsidies to homeowners of ground-level homes with a low energy label and a WOZ value below €477,000. Better insulation ensures that homes in Almere use less energy. It helps residents reduce their energy bills and prepares homes for a future without natural gas.
