From the end of November 2025 until the end of November 2026, Almere will celebrate its 50th anniversary. And such a special year naturally deserves a festive jubilee logo!
Denise Kleijnjan, a student at MBO College Poort, won the design competition for the jubilee logo organized by the Municipality of Almere and Almere City Marketing in collaboration with ROC van Flevoland.
Ivar van der Most from Almere City Marketing: It was fantastic to assign this task to the young talent of the city, specifically to the Content Creation students of MBO College Poort. We were extremely pleased with the diversity of concepts they presented. But there can only be one winner, and that is Denise.
A design with heart for the city
Denise: I found it amazing to use my creativity for the citys birthday! I was inspired by iconic buildings and the fact that Almere has emerged from the water. With festive colors and confetti, I brought everything together into a colorful whole. Its super cool that my design has served as inspiration for the final design that will be visible throughout the city.
Ivar: Each district has its own logo with recognizable elements that fit the character of that area. This way, each district gets a unique place within the jubilee style, while we simultaneously show that Almere is one whole.
During the jubilee year, Denise will intern at Almere City Marketing, so she can contribute to the deployment and visibility of the logo in the city.
Martijn Kranenburg, the teacher who guided the students in the design competition, is proud of the result: It was a beautiful interaction with clear starting points and a real client. A lot of beautiful things came up in the final presentation.
Logo for and by the city
Mayor Hein van der Loo: “50 years of Almere is a celebration for everyone. This jubilee logo adds color to that, with each district having its own variant. Its wonderful that young talent from Almere has designed this symbol.”

You can use the logo on your website, to stick stickers on your windows, or in other ways to color the streets of Almere festively.
