On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will visit Almere as part of a regional visit to South Flevoland. In Almere, the theme of living together and building for the future is central.
Mayor Hein van der Loo: I look forward to the visit of our King and Queen to Almere on September 9. In the youngest and fastest-growing city in the Netherlands, we are pleased to offer the royal couple an inspiring program, especially in Almere Poort this time.
Program
The royal couple will start their visit at community center De Ruimte, where residents will discuss living, working, and life in a young neighborhood. They will then visit several tiny houses next to the center and talk to residents about their experiences with small-scale and sustainable living.
Afterward, the couple will visit the vocational college Poort. Students will share their experiences with education, internships, and work in the region. During a subsequent discussion with representatives from education and business, the further development of Almere as an innovative and economically strong city will be central.
The visit to Almere underscores the citys role in a rapidly growing region where livability, education, and employment go hand in hand.
