In the first week of June, all Almere residents on social assistance will receive the Summer Edition City Pass. This is a first version of the City Pass that will be available to everyone next year. With this pass, they can travel for free by bus in Almere for four weeks during the summer vacation (July 12 - August 24, 2025). They will also receive a free top subscription to the New Library for one year.
Councilor Micha Mos (Work and Income, Poverty and Debt): “With this summer edition of the City Pass, we are giving part of the city a preview of what a city pass can mean. The summer edition of the city pass gives people who are not well off the chance to travel through Almere without extra financial worries and enjoy our city, our beach, and nature this summer.”
Free Travel
Everyone on social assistance (and their family, consisting of partner and children up to 18 years) will have the opportunity to travel for free and unlimited with buses from Keolis in and around Almere during the summer vacation for four weeks. The four-week travel period must be consecutive but can be chosen within the six weeks of the summer vacation. From the first moment of check-in, the four-week period begins.
Top Subscription at the Library
The New Library offers all people with this summer edition of the City Pass a free Top Subscription for one year. This includes a 50% discount on tickets for movies and activities, unlimited use of computers in the library, borrowing books and e-books without fines, and free online courses. The subscription starts after activating the code.
