From Friday, January 9, special collection points will be ready in every neighborhood. These can be recognized by a fence with an image of Christmas trees. On Saturday, January 10, all collected Christmas trees will be picked up. The locations and times are listed on www.amersfoort.nl/kerstbomen.
50 cents per Christmas tree
Children who collect 20 or more Christmas trees receive 50 cents per tree. This way, they contribute to a clean city and earn some extra pocket money at the same time.
The collected trees must be registered via www.amersfoort.nl/kerstbomen. This can be done from Tuesday, January 6, 9:00 AM until Thursday, January 8, 12:00 PM.
Disposing of the Christmas tree at another time
Those who prefer to dispose of the Christmas tree at another time also have other options. A tree with a root ball can be placed in the garden. The tree can also be cut into small pieces for the organic waste container or compost heap. Branches can, for example, be used as shelter for animals.
Additionally, a Christmas tree can be handed in free of charge all year round at the ROVA environmental station at Nijverheidsweg-Noord 35. Opening hours are listed on www.rova.nl(link is external).
