Many questions and responses have come regarding the implementation of the new parking policy during neighborhood meetings, via email, letter, or phone. Therefore, the college of the mayor and aldermen decided on September 25 to adjust a number of rules.

What has changed?

For residents and entrepreneurs

  • Permit holders from permit zone A may also park in permit zone B1
  • Current exemptions for the car-free city center remain valid
  • Car-sharing vehicles are allowed for residents in the city center
  • Residents with an electric car and their own parking space without a charging point can obtain an Electric Charging Permit
  • Residents with a disabled parking card for passengers can apply for a temporary permit
  • Bloemendalsestraat has been added to permit zone A

Shopping areas

  • Tolliusstraat, Stationsplein, and Hospice Appelweg are no longer shopping areas
  • The shopping area Leusderweg now runs from Van Campenstraat to Scheltemalaan
  • The Hudsonstraat remains outside the shopping area Neptunusplein

Transitional arrangements

  • Transitional arrangement zone A and B1. Residents of zone A and B1 can apply for a second resident permit for three years. This permit is valid in zone B2, B3, or B5 (of choice). Afterward, residents choose between a garage subscription or an alternative for the second car.
  • Transitional arrangement GROP. Addresses with a GROP registration (No right to parking permit) can apply for a transitional arrangement if there is sufficient parking space in the vicinity.
Applications can be made until January 1, 2026, and only with a statement from the landlord or VvE that no (future) private parking space is available. The arrangement only applies to addresses with a building permit; homes with an environmental permit after October 1, 2010, are excluded from the arrangement. If the application is approved, we will still grant a parking permit. If you cancel the parking permit, the GROP status will be reactivated for any subsequent application.
