Summary of College Decisions
Meridiaan Action Plan
Together with residents, entrepreneurs, and partners, the municipality is working on a safe and pleasant Meridiaan. This part of the Kruiskamp-Koppel neighborhood has long experienced nuisance and insecurity. Therefore, we are tackling this area step by step. We are redesigning the public space, with more room for pedestrians and cyclists and less space for car traffic. Social functions will also be added to the shopping strip, such as a meeting space where residents can meet and organize activities together. Additionally, specialized youth work is deployed to better connect with and guide young people. Camera surveillance will remain in place for the time being to maintain peace and safety. This way, we make Meridiaan a place where everyone feels welcome and safe again.
Sports Subsidy Schemes for the 2026 Calendar Year
The Municipality of Amersfoort, together with partners such as SRO, sports and exercise organizations, and welfare organizations, is fully committed to stimulating, enabling, and organizing sports and exercise for all residents of Amersfoort. The municipality offers residents, associations, foundations, and organizations five subsidy options to realize these sports and exercise ambitions. With this decision, the college establishes these subsidies, the available amounts, and the terms for 2026.
Air Quality Implementation Program 2026 – 2030, Clean Air for Everyone
Air pollution is harmful to health. The Municipality of Amersfoort wants to improve air quality and is taking additional measures to achieve this. Amersfoort aims to comply with stricter European regulations by 2030. In the longer term, the municipality wants to meet the World Health Organizations advisory guidelines. Additional measures will be implemented for traffic, wood burning, businesses, and construction sites. The municipality also collaborates with other governments in the Clean Air Agreement.
Cooperation Agreement Zilveren Kruis Transformation Plan Samen Sterker Eemland
The Municipality of Amersfoort, together with other municipalities in the region, care organizations, and Zilveren Kruis, is part of the Samen Sterker Eemland network. The network aims to better organize care and support through intensive cooperation. The partners of Samen Sterker Eemland have jointly developed a Transformation Plan in response to increasing pressure on care due to aging and labor market shortages. The college approved the plan on September 30. The college now agrees to the Cooperation Agreement with Zilveren Kruis. This agreement sets the conditions for the Specific Grant Transformation Plan and the accountability arrangements. By agreeing, the Municipality of Amersfoort can apply for 6 million euros from the national government on behalf of the municipalities in the region.
Opening Decision Subsidy Scheme Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility
In 2026, the subsidy scheme for Inclusion, Diversity, and Accessibility will reopen. Between January 2 and January 31, and between June 1 and June 30, 2026, initiators can apply for subsidies via the page Subsidies.
College Proposal 189400 Submitted to the College for Decision Under Confidentiality
Pursuant to, among others, Article 87 of the Municipalities Act, the college decides to impose confidentiality on the documents related to college proposal 189400, which it makes available to the council in the context of an information request. This confidentiality ends when there is an irrevocable court ruling or an irrevocable settlement has been reached.
Framework Note Soesterweg 552-556
At Soesterweg 552-556, owners Portaal and Ontwikkelmaatschappij Eemland (OME) have taken the initiative to redevelop the location. Bandenservice Amersfoort is relocating to Uraniumweg. The owners have made a plan for approximately 67 homes and about 300 m2 of workspace, for example for a care facility. The municipality is positive about this redevelopment for several reasons: the plan contributes to building at least 1,000 homes per year and offers workspace for social and/or commercial facilities, the plan offers opportunities for Soesterkwartier residents to live here, a green corridor will be created from Soesterweg to Wagenwerkplaats, and the plan takes into account wishes from the neighborhood. This way, Amersfoort remains a city and a home for everyone, with sufficient affordable housing, employment, and green public spaces for people and nature. To make the development possible, the municipality must amend the zoning plan. It uses the step-by-step plan for large construction projects from the participation guide. With this decision, the college asks the municipal council to establish the frameworks for the plan.
