Advice from the Public Health Service (GGD)
The GGD advises(external link) to temporarily stop using UF foam in home insulation. The GGD also advises further research to determine whether the material is safe and under what conditions it can be used. The Municipality of Amersfoort follows this advice.
What is the municipality doing now?
The municipality is working together with Winst uit je woning for the implementation of the insulation campaign. Winst uit je woning will temporarily not issue quotes with UF foam. Residents with a (signed) quote including UF foam will be contacted by Winst uit je woning for a possible alternative and follow-up.
Support from GGD region Utrecht
The GGD indicates that for homes where UF foam has been applied in the past, no general measures are currently necessary. If residents experience health complaints and insulation with UF foam has been done in the past year, it can be considered whether measurements in the home are desirable.
